Hi Everybody
I can't believe that I have finally managed to get into the blogsite without having to decipher French. Thanks Christie for being so patient with me!!!!
This week has been busy. Lize Mari came out of hospital on Tuesday and we were very excited that she could go home with us. On Wednesday we moved to our new home in Orsay. We took a Taxi as we had alot of luggage and we did not want to struggle with the RER metro. Well that would definately be the last time, it cost a fortune. It is really far from the city but feels so much more like home. From our balcony we have the most beautiful view of trees all around us.
On Thursday we met with Dr. Puget who was one of the surgeons who operated on Lize-Mari. She explained the process of the fiducial markers that they will be inserting into her head(this is to be used for the proton therapy). Well, as you know, Lize-Mari's first question to her was whether they were going to cut off her hair,???? Thank the Pope it will not be cut off. She suggested local anesthesia as we can then leave the hospital on Monday evening. After we met with the Anesthetist we definitely decided on local, he was rude and insisted that he could not speak English, well we will not have him administering anesthesia to Lize. Dr. Puget is such a friendly and outgoing Dr., She has been to Cape Town before for a seminar and was just talking about how beautiful it was and what a great time she had.
On Friday I celebrated my BIG 40TH Birthday. Thank you to everybody for all my SMS's and e-mails, you really made me feel special. Thank you Eastgate Team for phoning me and singing Happy Birthday, you brought tears to my eyes and it was a very special moment for me. My Mom took me and Lize to Disneyland for the day. WOW! And WOW! Again. What an experience. We had to take it very slow, we would walk for 30 minutes and rest for 30 minutes as Lize is still very tired and she has problems with her right leg and foot (she is having an MRI on Monday on her back). Needless to say we still had a fantastic day. I felt like a child and for the first time in a long time my worries were pushed aside on this day and I just had fun.We saw some shows, took some pictures with Goofy, Smelly and many more. We also saw the Disney Parade. Awesome!!!!!!!! Not many people will be able to say that they spent their 40th Birthday in Disneyland. Thanks Mom and Lize for making this day so special for me, I will always treasure it in my heart.
The rest of the week-end we spent indoors as Lize has been sleeping most of the time. My Mom left yesterday and I was very sad to see her go. I tried not to cry but I could not help it. We are going to miss her so much.
Next week we have a busy schedule as we have various appointments for Lize-Mari with the Specialists.
Will keep you posted. Miss you all.
Love Linda
