We are happy to report that the Geelhuizen's are eventually leaving for France tonight to embark on Lize-Mari's very own Cancer Fighting Journey. They will meet with the Professor tomorrow to discuss the surgery that she will require in order to try and remove as much of the Chordoma Tumour as possible. The operation is scheduled for Wednesday 17th February. She will have a few days to recover before her prepping begins on the 24th February for the Proton Therapy. The treatment will begin mid March and will span over 2 months. The family hope to have Lize-Mari back in South Africa on 6th May.
A note from Linda Geelhuizen to everyone:
Dear Friends and Colleagues
I would like to thank all off you for all your support these last couple of months. You have all been great in supporting my Family and Lize-Mari’s cause. I have had so many calls, sms’s and e-mails. Many days when I was really down, somebody would e-mail, sms or call and it would lift my spirits. Throughout this whole process the lesson that had the biggest impact on me was how much people actually care and how giving people are. The saying that “when times are tough, Friends are few” is so completely wrong, this is actually the time that makes you realize how many people actually do care.
Thank you all again for all your support and prayers. Your support meant more to us than you will ever know.
